CRUK to launch mobile game to help scientists find cure for cancer

CRUK to launch mobile game to help scientists find cure for cancer: Cancer Research UK will launch a free mobile game this autumn that will speed up the analysis of gene data, by getting the public to help as they play.

In March, 55 ‘hackers’ (computer programmers, gamers, graphic designers), along with Google, Facebook and Amazon attended Cancer Research UK's (CRUK) GameJam event to brainstorm different ways to turn the charity’s gene data into a mobile game.

CharityGiving website is suspended

CharityGiving website is suspended: According to the Dove Trust, Framjee was meeting with a "large charity" this morning in a bid to try to "salvage the situation" and ensure charities do not miss out on funds raised for them.

Framjee’s recent assessment indicates that there is a shortfall between the funds due to the charities donated through CharityGiving, and the cash held by the Dove Trust. Online reports suggest that the shortfall may be in the region of �250,000.
