Chip and pin to replace charity collection tin - Telegraph
Chip and pin to replace charity collection tin - Telegraph: "Shoppers when paying by card will be given the option of rounding up the cost of their purchases to the nearest pound, and donating the small amount – often just one or two pence – to a good cause.
The technology will be installed into chip and pin card reading machines, and the payment page on internet retailing sites. On the screen, when a shopper is asked to confirm the price, they will be asked if they want to 'round up' the price and donate the spare pennies to the retailer's nominated charity."
