Monterey County Gives! sets record with $1,347,191 in donations to 100-plus local nonprofits. - Monterey County Weekly: People: "There’s a lot to love about Monterey County Gives!, starting with the local nonprofit agencies well worth enthusiastic support.
As Gives! co-sponsor Community Foundation for Monterey County finalized numbers this week, there was more to like.
The best part: The sheer amount of people who gave. In the end, donors numbered 1,712 all told.
Individuals ultimately found the change in their heart to donate $969,325 in 2014, including a kid who gave $0.43."

United Way of Lee County will hold an information session about Charity Tracker, a database that connects local charities to maximize their efficiency, from 10:30-11:30 a.m. on Jan. 27 at Trinity Lutheran Church at 525 Carthage St. in Sanford. United Way Executive Director Jan Hayes said any Lee County nonprofit or church interested in the program is invited to attend, but she encouraged an RSVP to United Way at (919) 776-5823 beforehand."
