GIVING BACK: Kickstarting local charity with Adirondack Gives - LakePlacidNews.com | News and information on the Lake Placid and Essex County region of New York - Lake Placid News: If you haven't heard of it yet, it's called Adirondack Gives, and it's a local crowd-funding website inspired by the success of Kickstarter. Adirondackgives.org has been fully operational since January and during that time has raised $19,633 for causes within the Adirondack Park. Of those causes, 27 have achieved their fundraising goals.
