By Tuesday night, according to ABC News, 100,000 people had declared themselves organ donors on their Facebook profiles, a critical step, physicians said, in speeding the organ donation process because it lets families know their relatives’ wishes.

Statewide Online Fundraising: GiveMN Surpasses $50 Million - NPQ – Nonprofit Quarterly - Promoting an active an engaged democracy.: One of only two statewide, year-round online giving platforms, GiveMN hit a milestone this week by surpassing $50 million in giving. The amount was raised for more than 6,200 nonprofits in the state from 150,000 Minnesotans over a period of two and a half years.

Online Challenge Raises $2-Million for Charities That Aid Minorities - Prospecting - The Chronicle of Philanthropy- Connecting the nonprofit world with news, jobs, and ideas: An online fundraising challenge to spur giving among minorities ended Thursday night after raising $2.2-million in just 10 days. The money will be shared by Associated Black Charities, Hispanics in Philanthropy, and 2o other charities that serve minorities.
The W.K. Kellogg Foundation kicked off the Cultures of Giving Donor Challenge on April 17. It offered a dollar-for-dollar match—up to $20,000—for donations made online to each of the 22 charities, all grantees of the foundation.
