Why did RNLI decide to use Bitcoins?
The idea came from our research into future trends and changes that
may impact on the RNLI. Basically, it looked likely that we would
receive digital currency as a donation and/or as part of a legacy at
some point and we wanted to be prepared for that eventuality. While
researching, we became aware that using Bitcoin could expose the RNLI to
new audiences.
